The Humanities Department at Greenville Technical College offers courses in history, philosophy, foreign languages, religion, music, as well as general humanities courses. The purpose of our courses is to expose students to different disciplines, creating a more well-rounded student and individual. The learning experiences that result from our courses enrich every student – from those who are planning to transfer to a four-year college or university to those who are learning technical skills in order to enter the job market.
Our faculty is made up of highly-qualified professionals who stay current in their disciplines. The emphasis is on student success with plenty of one-on-one attention and a caring attitude.

All courses (except HSS 105) taught in the Humanities Department are articulated for transfer to four-year colleges and universities. HSS 295 and HSS 298 should transfer as electives to most four-year colleges. You should check with your transfer school and advisor before taking these courses.
Greenville Technical College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate and baccalaureate degrees. Degree-granting institutions also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels.
