The Department of Speech Communication and Theatre at Greenville Technical College is made up of two key disciplines: Speech Communication (SPC) and Theatre (THE).
SPC strives to create better speakers, better listeners and better communicators in public and interpersonal settings. These skills are critical for any student planning a career in any profession as they can lead to better jobs, better opportunities for promotion, and better relationships. Our faculty consists of highly-qualified instructors who combine academic credentials with backgrounds rich in professional experience. This combination allows them to do much more than teach from the text, providing real-world examples that promote student understanding.
THE classes provide theatre students with a full range of training in dramatic production over two years, including: acting, script analysis and the technical aspects of mounting a dramatic production. Additionally, THE students mount two productions every semester to put into practice their artistry on stage.
