Computed tomography is a medical process that uses images of specific areas of the body to diagnose disease and provide therapy. If you are a registered Radiologic Technologist or Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you can increase your marketability by adding specialized knowledge of computed tomography.
The Computed Tomography program at Greenville Technical College is fast and flexible, with just one semester of full-time study required. The program content is based on The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) clinical competency and CT registry specifications, and an ARRT CT registry review is included in the curriculum. All didactic courses are offered online, and clinical rotations may be arranged near home making the program ideal for the working technologist.
If you're seeking a career in a high-demand field, we can help make your education even more affordable.
The Career Pathways Scholarship may cover the cost of tuition, fees and books if you're enrolled in a qualifying program at GTC.
Please note: Pre-Health Sciences and Pre-Nursing students who are currently enrolled as Associate of Science students are not eligible for the scholarship until they are accepted and enrolled into the Health Sciences/Nursing program they have selected.
National Outlook
Nationwide, job opportunities for radiologic technologists are very good, with jobs expected to grow faster than average, and those with specialized skills are even more attractive to employers.
National career information for careers in the field of medical imaging is available from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
